HORSE CONCH SHELLS Family: Fasciolariidae. These large carnivorous snails are found mainly in shallow tropical waters. They number about 200 in species. Their shells are smooth and thick and have a graceful spindle shape. They are aggressive predators feeding on other mollusks. Their movements are slow and deliberate. They can be found on coral reefs, seaweed or sand.
